Due to new housing being built in the surrounding area, the city of Etobicoke, and the Etobicoke Board of Education calls for the construction of a new school in the area in the early 1950s. The result is Norseman Junior School, accepting students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, and opened in January 1953. The image attached is a approximate floor-plan of the school as it was when the doors first opened (Image taken from Norseman JMS 50th Anniversary Handbook).
